Enduragent / Terms

Terms of Use

Effective July 2026.

Enduragent is free, open-source software you install and run yourself. These terms explain what you are agreeing to when you use it, what it is not, and what we are and are not responsible for. They are written to be read, not to be skimmed past.

By downloading, installing, running, or contributing to Enduragent, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the software.

The software is free and open source

Enduragent is released under the MIT License. The full license text ships with the software and is published in the project repository; the MIT License is what actually governs your rights to use, copy, modify, and redistribute the code. If anything on this page appears to conflict with the MIT License regarding those rights, the license wins.

You may use it personally or commercially, fork it, change it, and ship your own version, subject to the license's attribution requirement. Third-party components included in the software carry their own licenses, reproduced verbatim in the project's notice file.

We do not sell Enduragent, we do not charge a subscription for it, and there is no paid tier. What you may pay for is described under "Bring your own key" below, and none of that money comes to us.

Provided as is, no warranty

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Enduragent is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, title, and non-infringement.

We do not promise that the software will work, that it will keep working, that it is free of defects, that it will be compatible with your setup, that any calculation it performs is correct, that any update will be released, or that your data will survive. It is software written by people, run on your machine, talking to services none of us control. Keep your own backups of anything you care about.

This is not medical advice

Read this section even if you skip everything else.

Enduragent is a training tool. It is not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and not a substitute for a physician, physiotherapist, dietitian, or certified coach. Nothing it produces is a clinical judgment about your body.

  • Endurance training carries inherent risk, including injury, overtraining, heat illness, dehydration, cardiac events, and crashes. Hard training carries more of it. That risk is yours and it does not go away because a plan looked reasonable on a screen.
  • Talk to a doctor before starting or intensifying a training program, and especially if you have or suspect a heart condition, high blood pressure, a metabolic condition, an existing injury, a recent illness, are pregnant, are returning after a long break, or you are unsure. If you feel chest pain, unusual shortness of breath, dizziness, or anything that alarms you during exercise, stop and seek medical help.
  • AI output can be wrong. Language models produce confident, fluent text that is sometimes simply incorrect. The coach can misread your numbers, misjudge your fatigue, invent a rationale, or prescribe something far too hard for the day you are actually having. It does not know how you slept, what your job did to you this week, or that your knee hurt on Tuesday unless you told it, and even then it can get it wrong.
  • You are the final judge of every session. Before you do a workout Enduragent suggested, decide for yourself whether it is safe and appropriate for you today. If it looks wrong, it is wrong. Skip it, change it, or ask a qualified human. Do not push through pain because software scheduled it.

The same applies to any structured workout the coach writes to your intervals.icu calendar and that then appears on your bike computer or trainer. A workout on a device is still a suggestion, not an instruction.

Bring your own key: costs and provider terms are yours

Enduragent does not include model access. You connect your own.

  • You pay for your own inference. If you use an API key from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, DeepSeek, Qwen, MiniMax, Kimi, Z.AI, or OpenRouter, usage is billed to your account at your provider's rates. We never see, handle, or receive any of that money. The app includes a local spend meter and an optional daily cap as a convenience. It is a best-effort local estimate, not a billing control, and your provider's invoice is the only authoritative number. Set spending limits with your provider too.
  • You must comply with each provider's terms. That includes their acceptable-use policies, rate limits, and any restriction on how their service may be accessed. If you use the ChatGPT subscription sign-in, your use is governed by OpenAI's terms for that subscription, and it is your responsibility to stay within them. That path is labelled experimental: it can break at any time if the upstream service changes, and we make no commitment to keep it working.
  • Do not share keys you are not entitled to share. Keys you paste into Enduragent stay on your machine, but they are still credentials. Treat them accordingly.
  • intervals.icu is your account. Connecting it means using your own API key under intervals.icu's terms of service. Anything the coach writes there, workouts on your calendar and whatever intervals.icu then syncs onward to Garmin, Wahoo, Hammerhead, COROS, Suunto or Zwift, happens in your account, under your relationship with those services, not ours.
  • Telegram bot mode is your bot, created by you with Telegram, under Telegram's terms.

You run it, you operate it

There is no Enduragent service. We do not host an instance, run accounts, process your data, or provide uptime for anything.

If you self-host the Telegram bot, in a container, on Railway, or on a VPS, you are the operator of that deployment. You are responsible for keeping it updated, securing it, configuring the sender allowlist so only people you trust can talk to it, protecting the secrets you inject into it, complying with the terms of your hosting provider, and complying with any law that applies to you for running it (including data-protection law if you let anyone other than yourself use it). Deployment guidance in the documentation is offered in good faith; following it is not a guarantee of anything.

Support is best-effort and community-based, through the project's public issue tracker. There is no service level, no response time, and no obligation on us to fix, answer, or accept anything.

Acceptable use

Use Enduragent lawfully and sensibly. Specifically, do not:

  • Use it to break the law, or to violate the terms of any service it connects to.
  • Use it to coach, monitor, or make decisions about another person without their knowledge and consent, and never in place of qualified medical or clinical supervision.
  • Present its output as professional medical, clinical, or certified-coaching advice, or resell it as such.
  • Access accounts, API keys, or athlete data that are not yours.
  • Use it to generate content that is illegal, or that abuses, harasses, or endangers anyone.
  • Remove or falsify the license and attribution notices in redistributed copies.

Because there is no service to cut you off from, enforcement here is mostly a matter of your own responsibility and your providers'. These are still the terms under which the software is offered.

Your content

Your training data, conversations, memory files, and plans are yours. They live on your machine and we claim no rights over them. What you choose to send to a model provider or upload to a platform is governed by that service's terms.

Contributions you make to the project's public repository are offered under the project's license, in the normal way for open-source contributions.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the authors and contributors of Enduragent are not liable for any damage arising from your use of the software, including but not limited to personal injury, illness, or death; missed training, ruined races, or lost fitness; incorrect training prescriptions or calculations; data loss or corruption; leaked or misused credentials; unexpected charges from a model provider or hosting provider; downtime or failures of any third-party service; and any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, or lost profits, revenue, or data.

This applies whether the claim is in contract, tort (including negligence), or any other theory, and whether or not we were told such damage was possible. Where liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the greatest extent the law allows, and since you have paid us nothing, any such liability is capped at zero.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions of warranty or liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here affects consumer rights you have by law.

Changes to these terms

These terms may change as the software does. The effective date at the top moves when they do, and the change history is public in the project repository. Continuing to use Enduragent after a change means you accept the updated terms. Any version of the software you already have keeps the license it was released under.
